Does God Really Exist?

Door to God

I'm 22 years old, born into a religious Hindu family in India. Every day after bathing, I pray—it's been a habit for years. But as I've grown older, I've started questioning things. I want to share my honest thoughts about God and religion. I'm not here to tell you what to believe. You have your own life and decisions to make. I'm just writing what I feel.

Is Religion Man-Made?

To me, religions feel like myths—stories created by humans, maybe for control or their own interests. At the same time, I think ancient texts might hold some valuable knowledge. Maybe the people who wrote them were way more advanced than we imagine. But overall, I see religion as something made by humans, not something divine.

What If You Were God?

Now, let's talk about God. My opinion might sound controversial, but hear me out. Let's do a thought experiment. Imagine you are God. You have the power to create everything—planets, stars, life, emotions, everything.

Would you intentionally create feelings like greed, anger, selfishness, or the desire to harm others? Probably not, right? Yet, these feelings exist in us. They're the root causes of so many terrible things—wars, rapes, murders, corrupt politics, religious conflicts, and so much more.

Nature or Divine Plan?

Some might argue that these traits developed through evolution, that they're natural in humans and other creatures. Okay, I get that. But if you're God, with unlimited power, wouldn't you step in to stop such harmful behaviors? Wouldn't you punish people for their wrongdoings—not after they die, but while they're alive, while they're committing these acts?

When I see something bad happening in front of me, I feel the urge to intervene, even though I'm just a regular person with no real power. If I were God, I wouldn't sit back and watch.

Does God Even Care?

This brings me to another thought: If there's a creator out there, maybe it doesn't care about us. Think about it—if all living beings are created by God, wouldn't we all be equal in its eyes? Humans, ants, cows, goats, birds—shouldn't all lives matter equally?

But every day, countless animals are killed just for our food or comfort. If there's a God, why isn't it doing anything about that? Why is it silent when humans commit crimes against each other and other beings?

My Thoughts

I don't have the answers. Maybe I'm wrong. But this is what I believe right now.
